National Simultaneous Storytime and Wednesday Craft

Wow what an exciting couple of days we have had in the KC.
On Wednesday we participated in the National Simultaneous Storytime. This is an event which takes place once a year across Australia and New Zealand. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian or New Zealand author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in Libraries, Schools, Pre-Schools, Childcare Centres, Family homes, Bookshops and many other places. It is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of Reading and Literacy. This years book was Hickory Dickory Dash written by Australian author Tony Wilson and illustrated by Laura Wood.

We met in the KC and had a count down to start time which was 1pm New Zealand time. Thank you to the wonderful Mrs Jopp who was our storyteller.

Check out this great video.

Our craft this week was based on Hickory Dickory Dash. We made paper plate clocks with moving arrows and an orbiting mouse. Thank you to Room 5 Librarians for helping us with our craft.
