Busy Fortnight

Wow what a super busy fortnight we have had. Last week we held our Scholastic Book Fair and because of the fantastic support we now have just under $500 worth of new books for our collection.

Tuesday morning we had a wonderful turnout for our Lads, Dads and Granddads Breakfast. It was a miserable, wet morning outside but inside the KC it was cosy, warm and fun. It was lovely to see the interaction between our Lads and their significant male role models. A big thank you to Anita and Ingrid from Timaru District Library who joined us as guest speakers.

Training is in full swing for our new student Librarians. The team of returning Librarians are doing an amazing job at training our new recruits which numbers 40 this year.

Last but not least I had the privilege of spending this Tuesday at Waihi with out 2 Kids'Lit teams. It was exciting to see so many teams from Mid and South Canterbury turn up this year, 29 in total.
Thank you to both teams who worked so hard in preparation for this event and as a result both finished in the top 10. Thank you Bridget Bruin and Michelle Driver who provide transport and support, and our Unicorn mascot Hazel.

Things will be a tad quieter for the remainder of term so we look forward to starting our Wednesday Craft sessions again in the next few weeks.
